Located on the famous Big Sur, California coastal stretch of Highway One. The Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant serves wood fired American Classics to an ever growing base of loyal customers. The restaurant is open for brunch, lunch and dinner, with a menu that changes with the seasons. The dinner menu features a lineup of delicious soups, salads, pizzas, roasted vegetables, seafoods, and meats from the wood fired oven and grill. Wood fired cooking isn’t the easiest way to cook, but the flavor imparted is worth the extra effort.
From 8 a.m. each morning, Big Sur Bakery entices with the smell of freshly baked wood fired bread. Every day they bake fresh handmade breads, pastries, tarts, cookies, and cakes.
Big Sur Bakery and Restaurant sources as many of its ingredients as possible from local farms and producers. This allows the chefs change the menu regularly to produce simple, seasonal cuisine, using what’s best and freshest at any given time. The best ingredients, after all, will always speak for themselves.
One of the best of a host of great Big Sur Restaurants, Big Sur Bakery & Restaurant is a collaboration between restaurateur Mike Gilson, pastry chef Michelle Rizzolo and head chef Philip Wojtowizc. Both Philip and Michelle are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York.
Located in a seventy-year-old lodge in the center of Big Sur's scenic corridor. It's a uniquely charming location for any occasion, from a romantic brunch, to a special dinner, to a wedding reception.

The Bakery opens daily at 8 a.m.
Lunch - Tuesday through friday 11: 00 - 2:45
Dinner - Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30. Closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday.
We are open sunday evenings from memorial Day through labor Day only.
Brunch - Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 to 2:45.

From the North
From the Monterey Peninsula, take Highway One south towards Carmel. We are 26 miles south of Carmel on the right hand side, just past the Big Sur Deli and Post Office.
From the South
Travel north on Highway One. We are located 1/2 mile past the sign for Ventana, on the left.
